Sir, – The ridiculous spectacle of highly paid TDs threatening that they will go to jail rather than pay the property tax, should surely reinforce the need to reform the law so that court fines are collected via the Revenue Commissioners and/ or the Department of Social Protection.
Sparing ordinary decent criminals from having to share their cells with this bunch would surely also be a humanitarian benefit. – Yours, etc,
