Madam, - To those for whom the Christ Event is the pivotal phenomenon of recorded human history the content of The Da Vinci Code is, at best, irresponsible fabrication and as such it is undeserving of comment.
However, in contrast to this content, the interest that it has aroused may, perhaps deserve a passing comment.
Dare one suggest that this interest is a manifestation of the nature of man, who has been made by God and is going to God, but who is temporally confused and somewhat astray owing to an abuse of free will by a representative member of our species? - Yours, etc,
