Sir, - Quality, affordable childcare for all who need it can be achieved only through a partnership between all the players involved-Government, employers, parents and providers.
We agree with Hilary Kenny (October 12th) that there is "a major crisis in supply". Tax relief, along with subsidies to low-income families, capitation payment for all children in relation to their early childhood education needs, capital grants to existing service providers, financial support to employers to employ qualified childcare staff, need to be part of a package in an overall framework for quality childcare services. - Yours, etc.,
