Sir, - I would like to pay tribute to the painter Charles Brady who died on August 1st. He was an artist of exceptional sensitivity, intelligence and humour. The enduring poetic quality of his small, still-life paintings reflect totally the warmth, generosity of spirit and appeal of the man himself.
Those who have never seen a Brady painting would be enriched by seeking out his work. Those who do know his work should look more closely, for here is a real artist - rare enough today, and one whose song deserves to be sung louder, and indeed, forever. - Yours, etc.,
Rosaleen Davey,
Killiney, Co Dublin.
