Sir, - Your tributes following the sad death of Charles Acton have reminded me and many others of the legacy of his work for music in Ireland. Reference has been made to his campaigns for improvements in musical life and organisation, but his campaign throughout the 1960s and 1970s for a National Concert Hall, which resulted finally in the magnificent hall in Earlsfort Terrace, is perhaps his greatest achievement. Thank you, Charles. - Yours, etc., Antony Lewis Crosby,
Chief Executive, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society, Hope Street, Liverpool, England.
