Sir, - J. Hagan (August 30th) is quite correct; the amount of money (our money) being spent on a change from one decimal currency to another is obscene.
In the same way that no one thinks deutschmark or franc until one arrives in the country concerned, no one will really think euro until E-day.
All that this present overkill is doing is suggesting to certain elements that there is an opportunity to make ridiculous pay claims. - Yours, etc.,
