Sir, – While we all welcome advice from time to time, can the Minister for Social Protection justify a cut in child benefit to those who are struggling on a daily basis, based on advice that comes from group of highly paid people – civil servants, members of State bodies and teaching staff from third-level collages. – Yours, etc,
Sir, – Child benefit incentivises child production and child production should be limited to countries with a shortage of children.
When Irish children reach adulthood, they are promptly exported, meaning there must be a surplus of children in Ireland.
Abolish the child production subsidy and invest the money in something that yields a real return for the Irish people. – Yours, etc,
