Sir, - Your correspondent Arthur McDermott (September 20th) is mistaken about the RTE interview on virginity and priestly celibacy, which he caricatures as "anti Catholic".
I spoke on behalf of the Humanist Association - not the Campaign to Separate Church; and State, which was never mentioned and which I do not represent. Mr McDermott's other recollections of the broadcast are similar creations of his imagination. - Yours, etc.,
