CARLOW CATHEDRAL

Sir, - The clergy never listen to the laity, especially when it comes to spending our money. To stop the intended vandalism of Carlow Cathedral, the parishioners should just say: "We will not pay for it." Cancel all payments to the church, except for the support of the priests.

If you want to stop the destruction of altars and railings which were built by the pennies of the starving Famine Irish, stop paying. It is ludicrous to hold protest meetings, and to then hand up your money for what you do not want. Yours, etc.,
