Madam, - On page 7 of your paper today (August 21st) there is a photograph of Michael Landers and Capt Evan Cullen exiting the Ialpa building at Dublin airport.
A member of the common fowl family appears to have taken up residence adjacent to the open door.
A case of chickens coming home to roost, perhaps? - Yours, etc,
PAT BRADY, Monastery Road, Clondalkin.
Madam, - The calling off of the Aer Lingus strike on the night before is about as useful to the intending passengers as would be a restaurant serving up meals after the diners have gone home. Most of the intending passengers would have already made alternative arrangements.
This bluffing game was ended not for the benefit of passengers or anybody else except pilots.
It cost those pilots neither a penny nor a wink of sleep, while their manoeuvrings spoiled the holiday and business arrangements of thousands, the pawns in their dispute. - Yours, etc,
JOHN STAFFORD, Knocklyon, Dublin 16
