Sir, - We understand that the Taxing Master allows expenses which are reasonably incurred when assessing costs. Assuming, as Fintan O'Toole does (August 1st), that Mr Larry Goodman spent five nights in an unnamed Dublin hotel, at a cost to us all of £3,536, is it unreasonable to ask that we be given the name and address of the hotel, in case we're ever stuck for a place to stay on our monthly visit to Dublin for the Bookfare?
After all, we can always claim to the taxman that it's a reasonably incurred expense! - Yours, etc.,
