Sir, - Having ignored the studied politeness of my article "Forget about another referendum" (December 29th), Pro-Life Campaign Education Officer Ruth Cullen responds (January 27th) to the studied bluntness of my charge (January 21st) that the campaigning legal adviser, Prof William Binchy has misled, and continues to mislead, people about the implications of the Supreme Court X Case judgement.
Her letter continues to mis-educate with its claim that that judgement "allowed for the direct termination of pregnancy in quite wide circumstances, including threatened suicide, with no time limit and without the benefit of medical evidence". That is typical Binchyese. However, rather than use your valuable space to repeat what you have published already, I suggest that it is time that RTE staged a proper exchange of related views.
It certainly is time to end PLC's monopoly of our antiabortion stance, even if that may terminate (pun intended) PLC or, better still, divert its efforts towards motivating Catholic males to behave themselves in sex matters. - Yours, etc., Joseph F. Foyle,
Sandford Road, Dublin 6.
