Sir, – My wife and I recently booked a CIÉ bus tour of Ireland through a travel agent in San Rafael, California.
We were very impressed with the efficiency of the travel agent and CIÉ through the booking process and the bus tour that followed.
The entire trip, which included air travel, bus tour, hotels, castles, pubs, guided walking tours, catamaran cruise with Irish coffee, and entertainment, was handled in the most friendly and efficient manner.
Most remarkable was the bus driver/guide named Luke who played the role of historian, comedian, ad lib commentator and excellent driver, and who was applauded for negotiating the narrow streets of Dublin and other cities. He also spoke Gaelic in relation to place names and historical events, which made me feel proud of my native language.
