Sir, - Could Ms Ruane please explain to me what she means by "on any scale, there is a qualitative difference between an embryo of 10 weeks and a foetus of 24 weeks"? (July 21st). Some form of species transmogrification? Would she say the same of a one-day-old new-born and one-year-old infant?
In so far as the foetus is concerned, there is no difference between abortion at 8, 18 or 28 weeks. The outcome is the same. - Yours, etc.,
