Sir , – I think it is an excellent idea to name the new bridge “Abbey Bridge” (Editorial, October 29th). In combination with the new digitisation project in the Abbey it would highlight and remind us of the cultural history of Irish theatre and honour its tradition. It will be particularly relevant when the Abbey moves to its new location, and if President Higgins who has such an understanding and appreciation of all the arts,opens and names “The Bridge”, it would highlight its cultural importance even further. – Yours, etc,
