Sir, – I have to express my grievance at being disenfranchised before even being enfranchised.
To my amazement Jennifer O’Connell (“‘Conor McGregor for president’ makes strong argument against voting rights”, Opinion, December 10th) seems able to predict how I’d vote based on the blustery utterings of a few loud MAGA types “with a Tricolour in their profile and an Irish grandma”.
Surely we emigrants are a more thoughtful, politically diverse and complex group than the writer gives us credit for. – Yours, etc,
