Sir, – Like many people these days, I receive my share of phone calls from fraudsters.
Yesterday, on answering, I was informed by a guy with a drawling American accent that “the financial regulator had identified suspicious activity on my bank account”!
I must confess to being a little insulted that the scammers held me in such low regard that they didn’t even bother to speak in an Irish accent! – Yours, etc,
