JONES Group has made a profit of £700,000 from the sale of the mv Rathmoy

JONES Group has made a profit of £700,000 from the sale of the mv Rathmoy. The vessel was sold to a subsidiary of Normar Holdings of Oslo, Norway, for £2.1 million. It had a book value of £1.4 million. The proceeds will be used to reduce group borrowings. The vessel, a 7,000 dwt product carrier, was built in 1982 and acquired by Jones in 1983. Since July it has been operating in the petroleum spot market in the Pacific Rim and was previously on charter to Total, the French oil company, operating off the east African coast.
