In the coverage of the Murphy report’s findings on Fr Tony Walsh in the edition of Saturday, December 18th, Msgr Alex Stenson was incorrectly quoted as telling Archbishop Desmond Connell in 1995: “I think it is important that every one of us should at this stage avoid any excessive reaction – no matter what the civil law may say. Least of all should we pay any real attention to the money-making posturing of the media.”
This was included in the Murphy report as a quote from Msgr Gerard Sheehy not Msgr Stenson.
