An article published in last Saturday’s edition said that the “Moriarty tribunal found that the awarding of the State’s second mobile phone licence had been corrupted by a financial relationship between Michael Lowry and Denis O’Brien”. We have been asked by Mr O’Brien to clarify that there is no finding or opinion expressed within the tribunal’s report imputing any corrupt act or attempt at a corrupt act on his part or on the part of anyone associated with Esat Digifone.
An article in last Monday’s edition, concerning the rising cost of fuel, quoted an AA press release which was incorrect. It should have said that a particular car which does 16,000 kilometres per year will use 1,500 litres of fuel.
