Kinshasa - Hundreds and possibly thousands of Zimbabwean troops are surrounded by rebels and under bombardment in a north-eastern Congolese town in renewed fighting in the former Zaire, Zimbabwean and UN officers said yesterday. A spokesman for Southern African forces backing the Congolese army against rebels said the troops were trapped at the airport in Ikela.
