KINSHASA The death toll in Monday's airplane crash at a crowded market near Kinshasa rose to about 300 late yesterday, Zairean state radio said, as prosecutors detained four Russian crewmen involved in the country's worst air disaster. Aid and medical agencies had earlier put the death toll at 260.
Three of the four serving on the Antonov An 32 were being held at the prosecutor general's office while a fourth was under police surveillance in hospital.
