A female member of staff at the Ulster Bank in Gorey, Co Wexford, was slightly injured yesterday afternoon when the branch was raided for the second time in three months.
Two youths in balaclavas, one armed with a hammer, the other with what appeared to be an imitation gun, escaped with over £10,000. Both were dressed in cream-coloured Nike tops and track pants.
The employee received a graze to the head from the raider with the hammer.
The raiders got away in a black Dublin-registered Honda Civic car which had been stolen in the town shortly beforehand. They abandoned the vehicle in a local car park and escaped in a light-blue jeep.
