TWO YOUTHS have been arrested in connection with a spate of criminal damage throughout Tuam, Co Galway, at the weekend that saw two homes and three cars vandalised.

Computer equipment, alcohol, paint and a fire extinguisher were among items seized by gardaí earlier this week following the attacks in which the gang destroyed trees and property with their “Parkmore Posse” slogan.

Damage was also caused to signage in the town’s scenic Palace Grounds region, where the two were apprehended.

One of the homeowners whose property was damaged said she and her three children are now in fear in their own homes following the incident.

“I discovered the damage to my house at 7.45am on Monday morning when I let my dog out,” said the woman who was too frightened to be identified.

“As I was coming back up the garden, I saw my kitchen window, which had been vandalised with paint. I got the shock of my life,” she said.

“Then when I saw that they had also spray-painted washing on the line, I rang the guards straight away.”
