A 16-year-old youth appearing in a County Down court accused of stabbing to death another teenager has lunged at a magistrate.

Four police officers were needed to pull the accused away as he screamed obscenities and attempted to get to the bench.

The teenager was appearing on a charge of murdering an 18-year-old in front of his mother in a busy County Down town centre street.

Two other teenagers, a 16-year-old youth, and a 17-year-old girl, also appeared on charges of assisting the accused.
