A woman who broke her ankle after falling from a "Tarzan swing" in Cratloe Woods, Co Clare, failed in a personal injuries action against Coillte Teo in the High Court yesterday.

Ms Breda McCrossan, Collins Avenue East, Killester, Dublin, visited the woods while on holiday with her father, husband and three children on August 25th, 1991. When they reached an obstacle course her husband and children went ahead. She ran down a slope and took the rope but fell when she let go of it on the far side of a small river.

Mr Justice Moriarty, who dismissed her claim, said the preponderance of evidence was that the swing was sound. It was made of solid timber and the rope was positioned to enable a child to take hold of it.
