A woman was knocked down and killed by a truck in Dublin city centre this morning.
The incident, involving an articulated truck, happened on Bachelor's Walk at 10 a.m. a Garda spokeswoman said. The woman, whose body was taken to the Mater Hospital, has not yet been named.
Last night, a teenage girl was killed in an accident in Co Clare. The 16-year-old was the passenger in a van that went out of control at Baunmore, Moyasta, near Kilrush. No other vehicles were involved in the incident which happened at 10.45 p.m.
There were two other people in the van, a Garda spokesman said, but their condition is not known.
