A woman has been treated for burn injuries after being struck with a petrol bomb during an attack on her home, police said today.

She was hit outside her house in the Enniskeen area of Craigavon at about 2am this morning.

One petrol bomb had already been thrown at her kitchen window and when she went outside to investigate the attackers threw another directly at her.

Her injuries are superficial and not thought to be life threatening.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

SDLP Upper Bann Assembly member Dolores Kelly described the incident as attempted murder.

"This was a despicable and completely unjustified attack," she said. "The people responsible are nothing more than faceless cowards and this act could have ended in tragedy. Petrol bombs are lethal weapons. This was nothing less that attempted murder."
