Woman held in airport cocaine seizure

A woman (23) has been arrested by Customs officers after the discovery of cocaine in her luggage in Dublin airport.

A woman (23) has been arrested by Customs officers after the discovery of cocaine in her luggage in Dublin airport.

The woman, an Irish passport holder, had arrived on a flight from Paris, France with her five-year-old son and had earlier travelled from Johannesburg, South Africa.

The drugs with a street value of €105,000 were found when officers examined her baggage. A total of 127 individually wrapped pellets were found in three shampoo bottles.

The woman was handed over to the Garda Drug Squad from Coolock Garda station and will appear in court later today.
