A woman was rescued from the offices of a taxi firm near Belfast after she became trapped when arsonists set it on fire early today.

The woman was in the control office of the taxi firm at Pembroke Loop Road in Dunmurry outside Belfast at 4am when wooden pallets were piled up against the door and set on fire.

She couldn't get out and as smoke filled the building rang the fire service for help.

As a fire crew sped to her aid Fire Service control kept talking to the young woman to keep her calm.

She was rescued from the building by the fire crew and was later recovering from the effects of smoke inhalation . The Police Service asked for any witness to the malicious fire to contact them.
