A woman who alleges her former boyfriend twice broke into her home and raped her last year, has denied she let him into the house on one of the occasions and that they lay in bed smoking after sex.

The 19-year-old Dublin man, who cannot be named, has pleaded not guilty to raping the woman and burglary with a knife on two dates in April and May 2008.

The woman disagreed with defence counsel John Aylmer SC, during cross-examination, that on the second alleged occasion in May she opened the door to him and that he played with their child for a time, and that they talked “for ages” before going to the bedroom and having sex.

She denied they spoke about getting back together or lay in bed smoking before he left. She denied coming at him with a knife before he slapped it out of her hand.
