A 65-year-old woman died in a three-vehicle collision two miles outside Monaghan yesterday. Mrs Eithne Ward, from Viewmount, Co Longford, was driving a car which collided with another car and a lorry on the road from Monaghan to Clones.
The occupants of the other vehicles were treated for shock at Monaghan County Hospital and later released.
