The man, who was in his 40s, was fatally injured when his motorcycle collided with a car at on the R699 Knocktopher to Kilmoganny road at Ballyhale shortly before 2pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post mortem examination will be carried out today.

He was one of approximately 100 people who were travelling together on a charity bike run from Clonmel in Co Tipperary to New Ross in Co Wexford.
