Winnie Mandela has been charged with fraud, according to a South African newpaper

Winnie Mandela has been charged with fraud, according to a South African newpaper. She is accused of using her position in the ruling ANC to obtain about $140,000 in bogus bank accounts.

The authorities allege she conspired with staff of Saambou bank to get fraudulent loans totalling more than four million rand by falsely claiming that they were for employees of the ANC Women's league, of which she is president.
