Matthew Stevens and Jimmy White will meet today in the first semi-final of the £615,000 Travis Perkins UK Championship in York.

White wasted little time in dispensing with Nigel Bond on Wednesday as he secured his first world ranking semi-final place for nearly three years.

"I'm playing my B-game at the moment. I'm not firing on all cylinders, but let's hope it connects against Matthew," said White after his victory over Bond.

Stevens is also looking forward to his match with White - and with it the chance to reach his first final since the British Open in September 2000.

"I've put a lot of hard work in. It's starting to pay off," said Stevens. "It's going to be a packed audience but I know what to expect because we've played each other before. It's a dream match."

This year's other semi-final clash, which starts on Saturday, will be contested between Ronnie O'Sullivan and Stephen Hendry, who both cruised through their quarter-final matches with 9-3 victories.
