West Ham manager Glenn Roeder has today been offered a three-year contract extension.
West Ham have moved quickly to try and secure Roeder's services until 2005 after initially signing him one a one-year deal in the summer as Harry Redknapp's successor.
West Ham managing director Paul Aldridge told the London Evening Standard: "We're in an advanced state of negotiations. Hopefully everything will be settled within the next week or so".
Roeder endured a torrid start to life in the Premiership as West Ham manager, with successive away defeats to Everton and Blackburn as a relegation battle loomed.
But the former Watford boss quickly turned around the Upton Park club's fortunes and a 2-0 win over struggling Blackburn at the weekend lifted them to 11th place.
