Dublin

Delays will be caused by continuing work on major changes to the M50 Firhouse junction, and extreme caution is advised approaching the area.

The North Circular Road gate of Phoenix Park will be closed for two weeks.

Work at Ormond Quay on the new pedestrian bridge will occasionally mean single-lane traffic at night.

Kellystown Road in Rath farnham will be closed until September 27th to facilitate construction of a new motorway bridge. Drivers are advised to take the Ticknock Road and Grange Road. Stocking Lane in Rathfarnham will also be closed until December at the point where it is to meet the proposed motorway. An alternative route is via the Edmondstown Road and the Mount Venus Road.

Clonskeagh Road will be reduced to one lane between Eglinton Road and the bridge over the Dodder from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. for the next week.

Traffic on Martins Row in Chapelizod, near the junction of the Chapelizod Road, will be reduced to one lane for three weeks due to waterworks.

Leeson Street will be affected outside peak hours due to work on a quality bus corridor.

A section of Blanchardstown Road North will be closed from the Ballycoolin crossroads until August 15th.

Cork

Bridge construction work continues on Lancaster Quay. Traffic will not be allowed on the right side between Little Hanover Street and Woods Street.

Bachelor's Quay will be closed between Devonshire West and Henry Street as part of work on the Cork main drainage scheme until mid-August. Boreenmana Road will be closed at the junction of Glencoo Lawn, Glencoo Gardens and Flaherty's Lane until August 26th. Until Sunday, Blackrock village between the Pier Head and Church Avenue will be closed due to drainage scheme work.

There will be no parking on Morrisons Quay from Trinity Bridge to the Catherine Street junction until the end of August.

Limerick

A new one-way traffic system will operate on George's Quay, with traffic permitted only from Bridge Street to Mary Street.

Laois

Roadworks on the N8 in Abbeyleix will cause bad delays of up to 45 minutes on weekdays. The alternative route is the Limerick road from Portlaoise through Mountrath to Derrin Cross, turning left through Ballacolla, rejoining the N8 at Durrow.

Carlow

There will be single-lane traffic on the N9 between Leighlinbridge and Royal Oak, and Dublin-Waterford traffic should use the N78 via Athy and Castlecomer.

Wexford

Roadworks will cause major disruption on the N25 between Carrigbyrne and Ballinaboola.

Donegal

There are major roadworks on the N15 between Ballybofey and Donegal at Barnsmore Gap.

Travel

Aer Rianta expects over 180,000 passengers through Dublin Airport this weekend. Passengers using the airport should allow time to comply with airlines' check-in regulations. All tickets on trains from Cork to Dublin are sold out due to the hurling match at Croke Park.

Road Deaths

Some 240 people have been killed in road accidents so far this year, with eight deaths in the week up to Wednesday night.
