Weekend Festival: Traffic and parking restrictions throughout the weekend for the St Patrick's Day Festival. Spectators are urged to use public transport as severe traffic restrictions will be in operation.

Today: From 7 a.m until 4 p.m, streets along the parade route from St Stephen's Green to Phibsboro Road, including Kevin Street Lower, Patrick Street, Christchurch Place, Dame Street, Westmoreland Street, D'Olier Street, O'Connell Street, Parnell Square, and Western Way, will be closed. From noon to 10 p.m. a monster ceili will close St Stephen's Green North from Kildare Street to Dawson Street.

Saturday: a civic ceremony in Smithfield Plaza will cordon off Queen Street, Aran Quay, Church Street, and North King Street from 5 p.m until 10 p.m. Access for business and residents only. Noah's Ark Parade from Store Street to City Quay will close Moss Street to Lombard Street East from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Custom House Quay from Memorial Road to Commons Road will also close.

Sunday: an all-day family event will take place in Westmoreland Street, Dame Street, College Green and Suffolk Street. Area closed to traffic from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday Skyfest will close Custom House Quay from 4 p.m until 9.30 p.m. Severe traffic restrictions in operation. Tara Street DART Station closed all day. A cordon will be placed around East Wall Road, Sheriff Street, Seville Place, Portland Row, Summerhill, Parnell Street, Capel Street, Parliament Street, Dame Street, College Green, Pearse Street to Grand Canal Quay. This includes the north and south quays from Capel Street Bridge to East Link Bridge. Entry to the Point Theatre for the Sting concert will be available only via the East Link Bridge and East Wall Road.

Galway

Parade starts at 12.30 p.m. Traffic prohibited along parade route from University Road to the junction from noon.

Limerick

Parade leaves Sarsfield Barracks at 11.30 a.m.

Waterford

Parade starts at noon and will take a different route than previously. Traffic restrictions.

Cork

Parade starts at 12.30 p.m. MacCurtain Street, Patrick Street, the quays and the Grand Parade will be closed. Parking and traffic restrictions in place.

Aer Rianta

Over 133,500 passengers are expected through Dublin Airport this weekend. Passengers are advised to allow sufficient time for check-in.

Iarnrod Eireann

There will be 15 special trains running in addition to the scheduled timetable at the weekend. Suburban services to and from Kildare, Arklow and Maynooth cancelled today. Drogheda suburban services will operate to a Sunday timetable. DART is expected to carry 50,000 people to the parade and will operate extra services before and after parade. Tara Street station closed all day Sunday. Passengers advised to travel early.

Bus Eireann

Services will operate according to normal Sunday timetables, with extra buses for parade. On Saturday the 8 a.m service from Donegal to Dublin via Cavan will be cancelled.

Irish Ferries

Some 21,500 passengers and 2,500 cars are expected to travel at the weekend.

Road deaths

There have been four deaths on Irish roads over the past week, bringing the total this year to 86.
