Waterford Wedgwood acquires top Swiss brand

Waterford Wedgwood announced today it has acquired the Spring brand from Swiss luxury cookware company Spring AG.

Waterford Wedgwood announced today it has acquired the Spring brand from Swiss luxury cookware company Spring AG.

The Spring group, which was placed in receivership in last October, specialises in high-quality household cookware as well as professional cookware and food-serving equipment for elite restaurants and hotels.

"Spring is a prestigious brand in Europe and world markets, where its status is comparable to that of All-Clad in America," said Waterford Wedgwood group chief executive Mr Redmond O'Donoghue.

"The Spring acquisition significantly advances our strategy to develop an international luxury cookware business".

Waterford Wedgwood will acquire the Spring brand name, its patents and trade marks, a majority stake in Spring's US distribution company, and inventory, equipment and tooling.
