British Airways chief executive Willie Walsh said today that any competition from Air France was irrelevant to BA's possible bid for Spain's Iberia.

"We believe €3.6 billion is a fair price to offer," Mr Walsh told reporters after the carrier's AGM.

"I don't know whether they're [Air France] interested or not, but it's irrelevant to our assessment of the issue," he added.
