Carlingford is not just a delightful village in north Co Louth, with a suggestion of the villages of northern France, it is also becoming a hot destination for eating and weekending, in places such as Jordan's, Ghan House and McGee's Bistro. It is indicative of just how the village is becoming an icon destination that they have the confidence this year to stage Carlingford Maritime '98, a combination of trade show, workshops, seminars and seafood festival, running from next Wednesday, to the following Sunday. The seafood festival will be of most interest to food lovers and it will include cookery demonstrations which will be held at Paul Carroll's Ghan House.

Carroll is also planning to invite a collection of speciality food producers to set up their stalls for the weekend, so it all promises to be mighty craic. For more details, contact Paul Carroll at 042-73682.
