JAKARTA - Military authorities in the Indonesian city of Semarang plan to deploy scores of pythons and snake charmers to assist them in safeguarding the May 29th general elections, a report said yesterday. At least 20 pythons and scores of snake charmers will be deployed to discourage anti government demonstrators from disrupting the elections in Semarang, the capital of Central Java, said Lieut Col Harry Purdianto in the Jakarta Post daily.
