UTV to purchase Limerick's Treaty Radio

Ulster Television announced today it plans to buy Limerick-based Treaty Radio for €15.74 million.

UTV will assume Treaty Radio’s debts of €1.17 million.

Treaty Radio operates an independent local radio station in Limerick branded as Live95FM, which began broadcasting in 1997.

Live95FM claims a new listenership of about 90,000 in Limerick. A recent JNLR survey showed an increase in the station's share of the Limerick radio broadcasting market from 31 per cent in December 1999 to 38 per cent in December 2001.
