A US soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in the Baghdad area and another wounded.
The US military said in a statement the bomb hit their vehicle late yesterday, but gave no further details.
More than 560 American servicemen and women have been killed since US-led forces invaded Iraq just over a year ago.
