One US soldier was killed and two wounded in an attack on a convoy in Iraq today, the US military said.
Central Command said in a statement the soldiers from the 3rd Corps Support Command came under attack by an improvised explosive device.
The latest death takes the toll of US servicemen killed in hostile incidents to 65 since Washington declared major combat over in Iraq on May 1st.
The United States, which has some 136,000 soldiers in Iraqalongside 20,000 from Britain and other countries, blamesattacks on its forces and other targets on Saddam loyalists and what it calls foreign "terrorists".
