Washington - A Vatican adviser who has represented the Holy See's interests at UN conferences on social issues is being considered for the leading State Department job on population and refugees, US officials said on Thursday. The two candidates are Mr John Klink, who has dual Irish-American citizenship and is an adviser to the Vatican's UN mission, and Mr Alan Kreczko, who is acting assistant secretary of state for population, refugees and migration, they said.
