Manchester United will reimburse their travelling fans the cost of the trip to Athens for the postponed Champions League match against Olympiakos.

Around 600 supporters had flown to Greece for tonight's game, which was called off by UEFA because of the terrorist attacks in the United States.

All of the fans were either already in Athens or on their way when news of UEFA's decision came through this morning, and United have said they will compensate them.

United chief executive Peter Kenyon, speaking before the Reds party flew back to Manchester this afternoon, said: "It's fair to say we've got to look at that, and we will form a plan to help them financially."
