Unionists elected to Queen's senate

Two prominent Young Unionists have been elected to the senate of Queen's University, Belfast, its governing body

Two prominent Young Unionists have been elected to the senate of Queen's University, Belfast, its governing body. They are Mr Peter Weir, a barrister and a member of the Northern Ireland Forum and Mr Steven King, a special adviser to Mr John Taylor.

Mr Taylor welcomed their election as a "steps towards the restoration of sanity and common sense to the decision making and appointment making processes at Queen's".

Other members elected include Mr Tim Atwood of the SDLP; Mr Martin O'Brien of the Committee on the Administration of Justice; and Dr John Robb of the New Ireland Group.
