Nairobi - Uganda and Rwanda yesterday accused each other of massing troops along their common border, just days after their armies clashed in the rebel-held Congolese city of Kisangani.

On Tuesday, the two countries accused each other of starting fresh fighting at Kisangani's main airport, where the Ugandan and Rwandan armies are dug into trenches on opposite sides of the runway. Troops from Rwanda and Uganda first entered the Democratic Republic of the Congo as allies in support of rebels fighting to overthrow President Laurent Kabila, but each now backs rival rebel factions.
