A CONFESSED UFF man admitted the murder of a Catholic, Mr Sean Monaghan, in August 1994, in Belfast crown court yesterday.
Mr Monaghan, lured to his death by men posing as IRA members, had initially managed to escape his captors only to be handed back.
One of his kidnappers, UFF man David Burrows (31) from Bray Court in the Shankill Road area of west Belfast changed his plea and admitted murdering the 20 year old Catholic.
Burrows also pleaded guilty, to UFF membership and kid: napping and falsely imprisoning Mr Monaghan, who lived with his Protestant girlfriend and their twin baby daughters.
A second man, John Mawhinney (29), has already pleaded guilty to destroying evidence at his Disraeli Street home, where Mr Monaghan was first held, but managed to escape from.
Both men have been remanded in custody to await sentence, while the trial of two others, William Andrew Graham (32), from Bray Court and William Harris (36), of Fifth Street, also Belfast, has been adjourned until today.
The court has already heard that Mr Monaghan, shot four times in the back of the head, was found bound and gaged on waste ground at Ottawa Street on August 14th 1994.
He was kidnapped by Burrows and allegedly Harris and two others not before the court, who pretended to be from the IRA.
